I’m all about trying to make more authentic connections lately. Especially after watching a video featuring a few young kids just walking up to complete strangers in a coffee shop and introducing themselves. Reminding me how much easier it seemed as a kid to just say hi and meet a new friend.
Yesterday at the park, I had a very lovely conversation with a dad who was using our neighborhood park as a quick stop on the way to pick up some flowers for his wife. We talked about sleep, being a stay-at-home parent and the achievement gap here in Minnesota schools.
It was not meant to be one of those, let’s hang out again, type of scenarios, but it felt really good to just make a connection with someone in the moment.
