I did it!!! I deleted the Facebook app from my phone. And it feels like freedom.
Okay, sometimes I find myself looking for it, but you know what I realized was that the ONLY thing I ever used it for on my phone was to WASTE TIME. I had even started using the app on my iPhone that limits how much time I would spend on FB. I had it down to only 6 minutes. But it still seemed like too much.
When I accessed FB on my phone, I was ONLY ever scrolling. Never looking for anything in particular (unlike when I access it on my laptop. Then I’m usually going to some of the groups I actively participate in, not just scrolling).
I’m tired of wasting time. I don’t need another distraction for when I’m feeling “bored.” And it’s certainly not something I want my kids to learn. There are other phone habits I’m working on, but I feel like this is a good step.
I’d rather listen to an inspirational podcast, read, if the kids are up, PLAY. I am going to hold more space for the things that matter: being more present.
