Grace

During mass recently, our pastor spoke about Grace and times in his life that he was the recipient of Grace. It got me to thinking of the times in my own life that I was blessed to receive Grace from others. Times when people opened their homes, their hearts to me, without a single moment of me feeling like I was supposed to reciprocate or even was able to other than giving them my gratitude.

Examples from my own life: My cousin, Eli, and her husband and son who let me stay with them at their home on the Italian coast, whom I had only met once as a baby on a visit to Lima. Bruno and Simonetta, who opened their home to my husband and I on our honeymoon, giving us a bed to sleep on for three nights in Brussels. My amazing doulas, Mary and Megan, who assisted myself and my daughter during the home birth of my son. I have never been to repay these wonderful people, but their generosity forever has my heart.

Then, I needed to take a moment to reflect on the times I opened my heart. One gesture I love doing is giving mamas who have just welcomed their baby, a meal. In my own experience, no one in the house wants to cook after a baby is born, and it is one of my favorite gifts to give. I never expect the mama and family to have me join. In fact, feeding people is just such a wonderful way for me to open my heart.

I bet if you think about it, in your own life, you will be able to come up with many gestures filled with Grace. Big or small, they all have left an imprint on your heart. Maybe even with a feeling to pay it forward and do something generous for someone else, not expecting anything in return.

And how did it make you feel to either be the receiver or giver? Can you remember how high your frequency was? How lifted your heart felt? Didn’t it make you want to find a way to hold on to that feeling?

Find ways to gift to people, even if they don’t know it’s coming from you. You know you’re doing it from the right place in your heart when it fills you with joy and excitement as opposed to frustration and resentment. You’ll feel your frequency and therefore, vibration, high. Keep going with little gestures daily and you’ll notice that your outlook on life has you seeing the good in people.

You’ll probably notice that you’ll be on the receiving end of Grace more often yourself when you keep your vibration high. It’s because the Universe recognizes people who are willing to live their lives in love and gratitude. Gifting is an amazing way to find yourself in that space.
